Godda is a district of Indian state of Jharkhand.

as a district it came in existance in 1983. Before that
Godda was a part of Santhal Pargana district.

and tribal cultures.

Godda is around 360km square area. Godda is the headquarter
of Godda district. Godda, Mahagama, Lalmatia, Boarijore,
Meharma, Sundarpahari, Pathargama, Poreyahat are the blocks
Godda distric.
Godda is almost 380 kilometer from it's capital Ranchi and
connected to railway, roadways and airways. Main railway
station of Godda is Godda Jn. The main bus station is Godda
bus stand which is 0 km from Godda town. Godda railway
station is around 1km from the main town.
पूर्वी भारत में गोड्डा झारखण्ड का एक महत्वपूर्ण जिला है। यह राज्य का 24वां जिला है। यह एक जिले के रूप में 17 मई 1983 को अविभाजित बिहार में आया। इसके पूर्व यह संथाल परगना जिले का हिस्सा था। संथाल परगना जिला 1845 - 1855 के संथाल विद्रोह के परिणाम स्वरुप अस्तित्व में आया। गोड्डा संथाल जनजाति बहुल इलाका है। संथालों के आलावा पहाड़िया, उरांव जनजातियां भी निववास करती है। गोड्डा जिले से बिहार राज्य के भागलपुर और बांका जिले के सीमाएं लगती हैं। ये 9 प्रखंडों में विभाजित है - गोड्डा, पोड़ैयाहाट, सुंदरपहाड़ी, पथरगामा, बसंतराय, महागामा, मेहरमा, बोआरीजोर और ठाकुरगंगटी। गोड्डा में हिंदी और संथाली के अलावा और भी भाषाएँ बोली जाती हैं।
